How Do You Make RNT?

What is a stake?

When we say claim your stake in your apartment, we literally mean you can now access an economic stake in the place you call home. But let’s unpack that a little more.

Your stake is made up of what we refer to as Rentership Units (RNT). RNT is a unique asset that represents your stake in your apartment. RNT enables you to own a stake in your apartment, get paid every month as a stakeholder, and earn more if the value of your apartment complex increases. 

RNT is tied to the value of your apartment complex. If the value of your apartment complex increases, so too does the value of RNT. In addition, you’ll earn cash every month—a 5% RNT Return—just for being a stakeholder.

How Do You Make RNT?

So how do we create RNT? Well, we partner with your property owner to create RNT. They tell us how many RNT they want to create and we make it happen. Each RNT is a unique asset and the total number of RNT per apartment complex is finite. 

If you want to get RNT, you have to live at a participating apartment complex (refer yours!). There are no confusing documents or hoops to jump through—eligibility is confirmed automatically using the Rhove mobile app, and you can claim your stake with the simple click of a button.

When you claim your stake in the Rhove app, you’ll immediately start earning cash monthly– with your 5% RNT Return. We collect your RNT Return from your property owner and deposit it directly into your Rhove account every month. You earn this just for being a stakeholder.

And if your apartment complex appreciates in value? So does the value of your RNT.

Want to buy more RNT? You can do so anytime, day or night, in increments of only $1 each. You can even set recurring monthly RNT buys to create a good financial habit.

Moving out? You can still hold onto your stake, earn cash monthly, and get cashed out if the apartment complex is sold.

Want to sell your stake? You can do that anytime. We'll buy RNT back from you for what you paid for it. If you can wait until the apartment complex is sold, you’ll receive the potential appreciated value for your stake.

An example is always helpful, so let’s dive in.

Let's say you move into a new apartment that offers Rhove and decide to claim your stake. Then, since you love owning a stake in the place you call home so much, you decide to set a monthly buy of $100 worth of RNT. In 5 years, you would have purchased $6,000 worth of RNT. If you used the monthly cash you earned from your RNT Returns to buy more RNT, you'd have accumulated $6,800 in RNT over that time.
